Happily Natural Day 2008

Aziza Beauty Supply was part of Happily Natural Day 2008. “Happily Natural day is a grassroots Afrikan centered natural hair care celebration.” This celebration was much more than a display of natural hair styles. The event had speakers, entertainment, martial arts demonstrations, and vendors that all were about improving one’s well-being spiritually and physically. We met many different vendors that we thought we should spread the word about.

Here are some vendors we met that we think are worth checking out:

TeaCo Café and Lounge

We met Myra and the staff of TeaCo at Happily Natural Day 2008. We sampled various teas that left my taste buds wanting more. I love loose-leaf teas and have spent my money with many tea companies like Teavana. Now that I have found TeaCo I will definitely spent my money here. Here is an expert from the TeaCo website for more information:

“TeaCo offers a unique one-stop shop/lounge concept to address America’s increasing demands for healthier drink and food options. Unlike a traditional coffee shop, TeaCo primarily offers a variety of loose-leaf tea, light food options, gourmet treats, and a “home away from home” environment (including free WI-FI Internet Access) for college students and business professionals to enjoy. TeaCo expands its loose-leaf tea options by marketing tea ware, such as tea pots and strainers, hand sculpted tea cups, storage and tins, health books and literature, scented candles, lotions and more.”

BORNATTY

If you are looking for unique eclectic ethnic apparel that fits most sizes, then Bornatty is for you. As a size 18 woman I was skeptical if the clothes at Bornatty would fit me. I was pleasantly surprised that they had some pieces that fit. As far as I know, they are a fairly new company and are working on the website, but it is worth the wait. I found one image on the web that may give you an idea of the Bornatty style.

BORNATTY Meaning:

Born free into a civilization
Of chaos and order
Realizing your essence of
Natural beautiful hair, untouched by societies influences
Abiding by the earth’s creation to heal the soul
Time will tell your boldness to become visible in a mental disposition
Through all the trials and tribulations still embracing
Your born identity: Bornatty

We saw this sista knitting away at the event. Her hats were marvelous to look at. They were unique and very stylish. She will make custom hats, scarves, etc to your liking. Checkout her blog/website for more info.

We met Dr. Kanika Jamila and we were intrigued by her threading techniques used for arching eyebrows and removing unwanted hair. She sells an instructional DVD on the ancient technique of threading. She also sells natural beauty products and offers a 30 day detox plan.
